In a bid to offer users an alternative to Twitter, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has launched its long-awaited app called Threads, which quickly gained traction, with more than 30 million sign-ups within its first day.
It is a text-based conversation app that allows users to publish posts up to 500 characters long, including links, photos, and videos. Similar to Twitter, users can engage with posts through replies, likes, and shares.
